This 89-Year Old Japanese Artist Shows Why Taking Funny Selfies Is An Ageless Passion
They say “it’s never too late to follow your passion.” Well, you don’t have to tell that twice to Kimiko Nishimoto – an 89-year old Japanese woman with a newfound love for photography.
It all started 17 years ago when Kimiko visited her son – a photography teacher who captured her interest in this art, and just 10 years later she was already hosting her first solo exhibition.
The difference between most photographers and Kimiko is that she does not take a conformist approach when she presses the shutter button. Her art resembles the playful mind of a child, and her photographs display humorous events, cartoonish situations, and ludicrous mishaps.
Kimiko cares less for artsy features and snobbish exposures of a wild imagination. Nearing the 9th decade of her life, this Japanese artist only wants to make her audience smile. Scroll down to enjoy a few samples of ageless passion for fun and play.
