Artificial Intelligence Turns Countries Into Women: Jaw-Dropping Results
Crypto Tea, a young digital artist, was intrigued by the way people view countries as a whole. And, out of sheer curiosity, she turned to artificial intelligence (AI) to reimagine what various countries would look like if they were women. The resulting portraits quickly gained popularity, and widespread attention, sparking further debate on the topic of AI as a tool to create art, and what the future holds.
We ask ourselves the question of whether AI is going to replace us in all aspects of life. We can already see it at every step: from factories where robotic lines have completely replaced human manufacturing, and all the way to fast food restaurants where the cashiers have all but disappeared and been replaced by interactive touch screens where you order your food without any human interaction…
But will AI replace our creative and artistic thought aswell? For now, the truth is somewhere in the middle. While AI can produce interesting and unique art, we have to note that AI-generated art is not (yet) a replacement for human creativity and interpretation. AI algorithms can only generate art based on the data that already exists. They were developed following a set of parameters by the creators, and they lack the capacity for original thought and emotional expression. As such, AI-generated art is often seen as a tool or an extension of human creativity, rather than a replacement for it.
Who knows what the future holds? For now, we must admit that, to the naked eye, these artistic interpretations of countries as women are quite a sight to be seen. Check them out yourself:
