This Japanese Artist Captures Tom And Jerry’s Most Unlucky Moments Into Priceless Sculptures
Remember when you were younger, came back from school and all you wanted to do is tune in to Cartoon Network to watch your favorite cartoons? Tom and Jerry have been a part of our childhood and many of us grew up with these cartoons. The beloved cat and mouse duo go back all the way to 1940, when William Hanna and Joseph Barbera came up with the first short animated series featuring the dynamic duo.
Ever since then, the show has brightened the lives of millions of kids around the world. Tom and Jerry are always up to no good, in the everlasting cat and mouse chase. Every single time, their chase would end up having the most hilarious outcomes for the protagonists, both Tom and Jerry comically failing in the most amusing and distorted cartoony manners possible.
It was those fail moments that Japanese artist Taku Inoue decided to immortalize in his sculptures. Having grown up with these cartoons, the sculptor said they played a big role in his development as a person and artist.
“A lot of people have seen (my sculptures) and I’m very surprised. Tom and Jerry had a big impact on my childhood, it’s influential to my creative work,” Inoue would say in an interview. He posts most of his work on Twitter, and although a lot of people have manifested their desire to buy sculptures from him, for the moment he hasn’t considered commercializing them. He does it for the art and for the joy it brings him to capture those hilarious childhood moments. We absolutely adore his work and you can check it out, below!
