Her Man Hated Her Singing, But She Floors Judges With Her Unbelievable Performance

As the 28-year-old Mary Ann Van Der Horst from the Philippines walked on stage and the X factor Australia, no one had any idea what to expect. You could see she was a little bit nervous. But she admitted to the judges that she believes has a good voice.

She went on telling them that even though her husband wasn’t very fond of her singing, she thought it was a good idea to just go on and try and addition anyway.

She went on telling the judges the funny story of how she and her husband met. He’s six years younger than her, and they met on Facebook. As she was browsing through suggested friends on her Facebook page, she saw his picture, liked him and decided “I will try to ‘catch’ him”. And now they’re together.

She admitted to sometimes sing at home, but said that her husband is annoyed at her singing. Despite that he was there with her together with her family for support.

You know the saying “struggle breeds greatness”, and in this case we hope that her husband’s attitude at home only encouraged Mary Ann even more to pursue her dream of singing. Because coming to the X Factor was the best choice she ever made.

The instant the tune began and Mary Ann opened her mouth, so too, did all the mouths in the room in silent awe. As she sang in her strong singing voice that easily rivaled Beyoncé’s,  she delievered a wonderful interpretation of “Halo” that made every-one in the room rise for a roaring and well-deserved standing ovation at the end.
