Man Sells Pens On The Streets To Survive. Then A Stranger Snaps This Photo Of His Daughter
Meet Abdul Halim al-Attar. He is a Syrian refugee who was photographed selling pens in Beirut. The Syrian conflict forced him out of his country, and now Abdul had to resort to selling pens in order to provide food for his family.
These heartbreaking pictures of Abdul carrying his little girl, Reem, were taken by a stranger in Beirut. While carrying the little girl, he is asking people if they want to buy a pen to help him support his family one more day. The photo went viral and touched the hearts of many people across the world.
1. The Photos
Abdul is seen here carrying his little girl struggling to get through the crisis selling pens. Unfortunately, hardships like this are a reality for so many people.

2. The Twist
Fortunately for Abdul, a web developer called Gissur Simonaron saw the pictures of the struggling father on the internet, and came up with an idea. He started an online crowd funding campaign in order to raise money for Abdul and his family. With his help, over $200,000 were raised.
