At first the family thought the whole thing was just a coincidence, as they could not believe they’d let their own children play near a sea mine. So to be sure they went and double checked the photos they took on the shore. Contrary to their initial disbelief the pictures clearly showed them that it was the very same sea mine they were talking about on TV.

5. An Innocent Mistake

The mom would later tell the reporters that they were just fascinated by the barnacles on it, and that at the time she even made a joke about the buoy being a huge bomb. At the time they did not think anything of it.
