Confusing Passers By, This Street Artist Gives Life to L.A. Pavements With Surreal Shadows
Los Angeles street artists may soon be at a loss as most of the walls of the city will be covered in graffiti, and there will be very little room for them to express their ideas. One artist wants to get ahead of the game by shifting his attention from the walls to the pavement.
Damon Belanger is a creative graphics artist that gives life to everyday public objects, by painting their shadows on the pavement.
Damon’s art is surreal and provocative. Walking around on the sidewalks that he chose as his canvas will present you with amazing images of the surroundings. For example, mailboxes resemble evil Pac-man-like creatures on their pavement mirror. Poles take the form of smiling flowers and benches of curious cats.
Belanger has transformed L.A.’s grey pavements into a vivid universe of incredible beings. If you cannot visit it in person, this gallery will give you a gist of what you’re missing.
